or, neutralizing the toxins (or both).

~ antihistamines,
~ relaxation techniques,
~ Enemas, Colemas, Colonics,
~ a cleansing bath: add 1 cup salt, 1 cup soda, 1 cup
epsom salts, 1 cup aloe vera, to a hot bath, remain in
and keep hot for about 1-1/2 hours all the while
consuming about 2 quarts of warm water.

That’s why we suggest taking things slowly if you’ve never done anything like this before. That way, you can get used to making the changes gradually, and it seems a whole lot less

To start, I’d bet a more liberal low-carb program (like Atkins) would work nicely. Then as you start to see results and starts to feel better, you might be willing to brainstorm ways to eliminate the foods that feed yeast (dairy, fruit, nuts) to see even better results.

The only problem when you don’t cook for yourself much is that you end up getting a lot of food with unknown ingredients. For people with ANY kinds of sensitivities, this can be a real issue. The added salt, sugar, and MSG alone can cause real problems, but you may already be getting that now
(depending on how you’re eating.)

Keep some boiled eggs and roasted meatandchicken in the fridge. I like to have a roast in the fridge. (I love roasted chicken, but I can’t stand it cold!) I’m fine eating pork or beef cold from the fridge. I can just grab it and go.

If you’ve got yeast on your body, it’s systemic, and it needs to be treated systemically. This involves eating the right foods (and NOT eating the wrong ones), using supplements that support your immune system and nourish your body, and limiting (as much as possible) your exposure to environmental toxins. You have to give your immune system a fighting chance at getting the yeast back to its friendly form, but once it’s overgrown and turned ugly, this can be a long process.

Under normal circumstances, I’m one of the biggest carnivores you’d ever meet, but during early pregnancy, the last thing I want to look at is meat or eggs (let alone actually EAT them!) The fact is though, pure animal fats/proteins are essential to good health.
Animal food contains nutrients that you can’t get any place else, and pure animal fats (lard, tallow, butter) are invaluable when it comes to healthy
living.
Dealing with meat aversions is well worth the effort because with good fat and protein, your body can more efficiently use the nutrients you give it.
This means you can heal better.

Most people think that yogurt is good for people with yeast, but in many cases, we candida sufferers are very sensitive to any dairy but butter. I never would have believed this a year and a half ago, but once I gave up dairy (other than butter), it was easy for me to see why I had to do it.
For financial reasons, I’ve been eating dairy recently (including heavy cream which is quite low in carbs), and I’m definitely having some yeast issues that I never had without the dairy (SEVERE epigastric pain, sinus/ear problems, vaginal yeast, yeast on my skin…)

While yogurt does contain beneficial bacteria, you don’t get nearly enough to outweigh the issues that the dairy itself can cause for candida sufferers. Taking a good quality probiotic is a much better choice in my opinion as you’re curing candida.

Having PCOS (polycystic ovaries) myself (which is associated to insulin resistance), I find it is absolutely AMAZING how quickly these things resolve themselves as we start to treat candida. The same thing can be said for endometriosis. As you heal your body and deal with the candida, your body is more able to use (and appropriately react to) all your hormones including reproductive hormones, insulin, thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary hormones.

1) I’ve been putting coconut oil in my ear (also affected) and my nose. I know it sounds weird, but it really helps. You can put a glob of coconut oil in your nose and lay down with your head tilted slightly back. It’ll run into your sinuses, and after a bit, you’ll blow a bunch of nasty gunk out of your head. (Same thing with the ear pain that was spreading along the whole left side of my face. Put a glob of coconut oil in your ear and lay down for a bit so it can run in. It helps!)

2) See a chiropractor! My chiro did this massage thing and released some pressure points that did help with my sinus for a few days. I only see him once a week, so the pain came back, but it worked for about 3 days.

3) Steam, steam, STEAM! We actually have this “personal vaporizer” that we got at Walgreen’s. You put water in it and it directs steam right into your nose (or your whole face if you use the face mask that comes with it.)

4) Saline drops are quite affective, and you can use them as many times as you like. (I’ve never tried the garlic drops, so I can’t speak to that, but I’d guess it’d work just as well as saline. I don’t know if it’d cause any painful die-off though.)

5) Eat on plan and take supplements that support your immune system. Make sure to get PLENTY of Vit A, C, D & E so that your immune system can work FOR you instead of against you.

Symptom intensifiers:
Two common sources: decreasing the blood flow, which allows the toxins to accumulate, or, increasing the die off of parasites.

~ fear,
~ anxiety and worry,
~ hormonal imbalances,
~ enzymes, bromelain, pancreatin, etc.,
~ clotting agents, heavy foods,
~ excessive exercise, tiredness,
~ fatigue, exhaustion,
~ cold temperatures,
~ air pollution,
~ anti-virals,
~ anti-bacterials,
~ anti-fungals,
~ anti-parasitics,
~ chronic illnesses,
~ high doses of vitamins,
~ some forms of chelation treatments

Symptom reduction

Two common strategies: improving the blood flow to clear the toxins faster (see vascular constriction), or, neutralizing the toxins (or both).

~ antihistamines,
~ relaxation techniques,
~ Enemas, Colemas, Colonics,
~ increase in blood thinning supplements,
~ Lemon/Olive Oil liver/gall bladder cleanse,
~ 2 Tbsp Lemon Juice (Organic) or 1/2 lemon rind),
~ 1 Tbsp cold pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil,
~ flavanoids (widens blood vessels),
~ hydrogen peroxide intravenous,
~ aerobic oxygen supplementation,
~ lymphatic massage,
~ anti-inflammatories,
~ bentonite clay,
~ charcoal tablets,
~ diatomaceous earth,
~ pain medication,
~ muscle relaxers,
~ hot baths / hot tub,
~ steam bath or dry sauna,
~ infrared Hot House treatment,
~ a cleansing bath: add 1 cup salt, 1 cup soda, 1 cup epsom salts, 1 cup aloe vera, to a hot bath, remain in and keep hot for about 1-1/2 hours all the while consuming about 2 quarts of warm water.

Personally I use Bentonite clay, hot baths with espom salts and ocassionally saunas.

The majority of a Candida yeast overgrowth is within the digestive system. When you destroy a yeast cell, the toxic internal yeast fluids are released into the digestive chamber and immediately absorbed into the blood stream.

As you continue on the program, thousands upon thousands of yeast cells will begin dying every day.
This may create the “Herxheimer Die-off Reaction” – the situation where yeast poisons are created faster than the immune system or eliminative channels can remove them from the blood.

If this happens, you may feel temporary mild discomforts such as headache, fatigue, muscle aches, joint or chest pain, inflammation of the throat,
sinuses, lungs, mucus congestion, colon discomforts, acne, nausea, skin rashes, constipation, gas, dizziness, or depression, etc. These symptoms are short-lived in the majority of cases and will go away soon enough as you continue on with the program.

There may be times when a reduction in steps of the program may be in order to slow the die-off reaction and decrease the rate of toxins created. Die-off does indicate that the program is working and is a necessary byproduct of the healing process, but too much can be uncomfortable.

One of the reasons it takes so long to remove a yeast infection is that the death of one yeast cell is food for another yeast cell, which encourages those yeast colonies still living.

They are being fed and supported by the internal fluids of dead cells. Until the majority of the yeast colonies are destroyed, the die-off reactions will
never completely go away. Please do not shy away from the program or be discouraged if die-off symptoms occur.

They will disappear as soon as sufficient digestive Candida has been removed. It may take several weeks or several months depending on individual severity, but it will eventually end if you remain steadfast on the program.

> – Calories should be 10-12 times your body weight. So for instance if you weigh 200 pounds your calories should be 2000-2400.

Many people don’t seem to understand that when you’re eating a high-healthy-fat, low-carb, moderate protein diet, calories don’t count like they do when you’re eating a low-fat, high-carb diet. I’ll post an interesting article shortly that describes why “a calorie isn’t just a calorie” when you’re following a low-carb, high-fat diet.

I bring this up because the calorie issue can be just as important for people who’re underweight (or of average weight.) If you have trouble keeping weight on, remember that you may need more calories than you think are necessary because your body is using the nutrients you provide it quite efficiently.

> – Avoid eating 3 hours before bed time. If you get hungry before bed, have 1-2 tbsp plain coconut oil. Also you can always bring coconut oil with you to eat in emergencies.

If you’re pre-diabetic or diabetic though, you may need to eat a high-fat snack (which can include a bit of protein too) right before bed to combat the “dawn effect”. Personally, I can’t stomach plain coconut oil, but I have been known to have a shake before bed that includes 1 egg, 1T butter, and 1T coconut oil (along with some stevia and a cup of water.) That fat/protein snack is really easy to digest AND it keeps my liver from thinking that it needs to make glucose overnight. When I have something like this right before bed, my morning fasting glucose is always much better than it is if I eat at 6:00pm and then don’t eat again ’til the next morning.

> – Eat your largest meal in the morning, and break your food down into 4-5 smaller meals (unless you have digestion issues).

Again, if you’re pre-diabetic or diabetic, it’s wise to eat your largest meal (which presumably contains the most carbs and protein) in the middle of the day. Blood sugars can run higher in the AM because of the dawn effect, so you don’t want to go and dump more protein/carbs into your system when your body’s already struggling to deal. And if you have too many carbs (or too much protein) with your evening meal, you don’t have a lot of time to mediate your blood sugar through activity. Again, you’ll head into night time with higher blood sugars and then your liver can compound the problem by thinking it needs to make even MORE glucose.

Yes, following a quality candida diet (low-carb, high-healthy-fat, adequate protein) goes a long way toward helping you maintain stable blood sugars, but people often still have trouble as they heal their bodies because of the damage that the candida toxins do to our endocrine systems and cell walls.

> – If you are stalled, make sure your calories are correct and your ratios. Do not go overboard with either protein or fat.

FitDay.com is our friend, everybody! No matter whether you’re overweight or just tracking your diet as you cure your candida, that site is invaluable! It can really let you know where you stand, and if you start to have problems, you can look back at what you’ve eaten to see if you can figure out what’s going on. For instance, some long-time low-carbers will get to the point where they have trouble losing weight. They start entering their food in Fitday and find that they weren’t eating enough or they were eating more carbs than they thought. The same bits of information can be helpful to candida sufferers. For instance, if your symtoms get worse, you can spot-check. Am I getting enough fat? Am I eating too many carbs? Am I feeling poorly because I’m not getting enough calories?

> – Also if you are stalled, consider ditching stevia, dried spices, salt, lemon juice and butter along with your typical candida diet.

Respectfully, I have to disagree on the salt thing. If you use nothing but sea salt, and you use it to taste, AND you’re drinking your water, it’s likely that the salt is not the issue. Nutrient deficiencies as well as the consumption of refined, iodized salt can certainly cause weight loss issues though.

If you suspect salt is a problem for you, look at your diet. Is there refined salt that’s sneaking in? Is your butter salted? What about seasoning blends that you use with protein and veggies? Are you eating any protein or veggies that are hiding extra salt? (Some canned fish and frozen veggies will contain added salt, so you have to look.) A little refined salt can actually do a lot of damage, but if you use SEA salt to taste, you drink your water, and you maintain an adequate mineral balance, you shouldn’t have any trouble with “salt”.

- Calories should be 10-12 times your body weight. So for instance if you weigh 200 pounds your calories should be 2000-2400.

- Avoid eating 3 hours before bed time. If you get hungry before bed, have 1-2 tbsp plain coconut oil. Also you can always bring coconut oil with you to eat in emergencies.

- Eat your largest meal in the morning, and break your food down into 4-5 smaller meals (unless you have digestion issues).

- Drink at least half of your body weight in ounces of plain water.
So if you weigh 200 pounds, you would drink 100 ounces of water a day or more. Water is your friend and helps you detoxify and metabolize fat

- If you are stalled, make sure your calories are correct and your ratios. Do not go overboard with either protein or fat.

- Also if you are stalled, consider ditching stevia, dried spices, salt, lemon juice and butter along with your typical candida diet.

- Also consider doing a meat fast (just meat and oil) for a few days to kick start the process. Beware that this may give you die-off symptoms that are more severe.

<fb:like href=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.healthy-n-fit.net%2Fmain-content%2Fresponse-to-previous-post-2-day-diet-idea-yeast-symptoms%2F height=25 width=600 show_faces=false font=verdana action=recommend colorscheme=light layout=standard style="margin: 10px 0;"></fb:like>
I certainly appreciate the input, but that kind of eating would NEVER work for me. Right now while I’m pregnant, my blood sugar is not as easily controlled as I’d like it to be, and if I have even one serving of something that I don’t normally eat (like a bit of pineapple or some grapes, for instance), my fasting blood sugars are higher for about 24 hours.

Since I’m not only eating the way I do to try and deal with Candida but also to ward off diabetes, control my blood pressure, and deal with food addiction, I’ve learned that higher-sugar fruit, grain, starchy veggies and legumes just do NOT work for me.

There aren’t any nutrients in grain, legumes, and starchy veggies that I can’t get from other foods that work better for me. I feel a TINY bit differently about fruit, but I don’t NEED fruit to be healthy, and I certainly can’t tolerate much (if any) while trying to address the Candida issue. Heck, even too many cooked onions give me issues. *sigh*

I wish this wasn’t true for me. I wish I could eat whatever I wanted and be healthy. I wish I didn’t have to limit my diet the way I know I have to in order to get healthy. That’s a “head” issue that I still have to work on though — accepting the fact that I’m probably never going to be able to eat certain foods and stay healthy.
