Plastics that are safe for food and beverage storage – health and Candida

I have water pitchers (that go with my water distiller, but I bought extra pitchers) that specifically said “non- eaching” and indicated they are safe for purified water. I trust that it’s true because I got a quality product from a quality company. But I had wondered what is the difference between safe plastics and unsafe plastics? I had a hard time explaining to anyone who asked about my water pitchers.

After some research I have found the following info:

According to Dr. Mercola’s website, the following plastics are safe for food and beverage storage because they don’t leach harmful chemicals:
High-density polyethylene “#2 HDPE”
Low-density polyethylene “#4 LDPE”
Polypropylene “#5 PP”
